We are looking for an experienced Storeman / Warehouse Assistant for a Renowned IT Distribution Company in Port Elizabeth.

Requirements:

• At least 3 - 5 years' experience working with stock in a Storeroom / Warehouse environment

• Matric qualification is essential

• Valid Driver's License is essential

Duties:

• Inventory Management

  • Maintain accurate records of IT hardware, software, and accessories.

  • Track stock levels and reorder when necessary.

  • Conduct regular stock counts and audits.

• Receiving & Issuing

  • Receive deliveries of IT equipment and verify against purchase orders.

  • Label, store, and organize items systematically.

  • Issue equipment to staff or technicians, ensuring proper documentation.

• Storage & Security

  • Ensure safe storage of sensitive IT assets (servers, laptops, networking gear).

  • Implement access controls to prevent unauthorized use.

  • Maintain proper environmental conditions (temperature, dust control, etc.).

• Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare reports on stock usage, shortages, and damages.

  • Keep records of warranties, licenses, and asset tags.

  • Support audits and compliance checks.

• Coordination

  • Work closely with IT support teams to ensure timely availability of equipment.

  • Liaise with suppliers for procurement and returns.

  • Assist in asset disposal or recycling when equipment is obsolete.

 Other Responsibilities

• Accountability for all IT stock under their control.

• Ensuring cost-effective use of IT resources.

• Supporting smooth IT operations by minimizing downtime due to missing equipment.

• Upholding company policies on asset management and compliance.

• Acting as the custodian of IT consumables (cables, peripherals, printer cartridges, etc.).
